Re: April 2025 Purchases

Can certainly recommend the Stockwell Pub too...fabulously priced quality wines by the glass and great food, service and setting. Craig, Matt Lehmann at Hoffman Family Vineyards certainly recommended the Stockwell pub, have to try it next time. Adrian Hoffmann has an interest apparently. Great wine...

Re: April 2025 Purchases

Probably needs it own thread Great experience on Friday tasting the Standish new releases with Dan and Nicole...lovely people. Relic, Standish, Theorem and Lamella in that order. Can certainly detect the Viognier (1.5%) in the Relic, very slippery wine on the palate. Standish is a brute, fruit/acid...

Re: April 2025 Purchases

A label completely unknown to me, no real info on their website as to background and winemaking, just like every other CW incarnation, outrageous RRP quoted on line, but 2016 Coonawarra Cabernet "discounted" to $20, what could possibly go wrong? 12 x 2016 Devitt & Moore Captain D Bruce...

Re: POLL: Would you pay $1,000 for the 2021 Hill of Grace?

The funny thing I find in all of this discussion about premium wine and high costs, particularly Penfolds in my case, how come St H is still relatively cheap? To me it's by far the best value Penfolds wine on offer. I bought some at Magill Estate a week or so ago for $100/b. That is such good value ...

1 x 2021 Penfolds Bin180 Coonawarra Cabernet Shiraz Even more expensive than Grange! Is it any good? My favourite claret is Yalumba Signature, of which I can buy 20 bottles for the price of this one  It is very good now, but will be an outstanding wine in time imo. I have had a long t...

It's not Grange or HoG, but I did pick up a bottle of 2021 Penfolds Bin180 for a fair bit of coin at a tasting of this and a couple of other Penfolds special wines at Magill Estate today

Sad to hear of Mark’s passing, from a distance it seemed to be sudden in the end. I never had the occasion to meet him, but did buy a few bottles from him over the years. Condolences to the family.

Re: TN: CDs d'Arenberg, Seppeltsfield, Magill

Had a couple of casual visits to the Cube with interstate visitors over the last 18 mths which were fun, but a few years ago did the VIP tasting with my wine mates group. It was ok, but we were all dumbfounded by the fact that by the end of the tasting we had sampled some 12-13 shiraz wines. How cou...
