Re: Right, what are we/you drinking now .. tonight

Travis, I don’t understand why as an Arsenal supporter you would want Spurs relegated. Then there would be no north London derby. It’s like a few seasons back Everton were in trouble and so many Liverpool supporters wanted them relegated. I didn’t as then there wouldn’t have been two Merseyside der...

Carlton supporter here. 😕
The saving grace is that we're also a house of Arsenal supporters. Hoping for the most glorious of seasons: Arsenal to be the premiers and to see Spurs relegated.
I've no DP in the cellar but will have to run out and buy some if that comes to fruition.

Great notes. Many thanks Allan.

Con, random question: How old was the Seaview "Champagne" and how was it drinking?

Many thanks, Travis

Great notes. Thanks Graeme. I do love Grosset PH with good age on it, but prefer Springvale/Watervale with almost no age.
Annual note to self: Buy more Vat 1.

Re: Rockford Basket Press Vertical

A few months ago, while fossicking around downstairs, I managed to drop a bottle of Château Gruaud Laros nose down onto its rim. This was from about a metre, and onto concrete. It bounced up a foot and I managed to catch it. All good! It hit at a perfect 45 degrees. Quite the "dent" on the...

Took a 2002 Grosset PH to day one of the World Test Championship at Lords. Despite the average glassware, this remains a cracking wine (fantastic line and length) with the loveliest lime aromas and beautiful cleansing acidity. Plenty of life left Snap! Almost. Took a 2005 to share with Mr Carringto...

We had a Signature '98 last month. It was absolutely fantastic. Opened my eyes, once again, as to how good Aussie Cab Shiraz (with a touch of age on it) can be. Wish I had more.

Hi Allan, Thanks for your reply. Much appreciated. We're in Canberra. Cold Winters and hot Summers. I'm going to install the racking myself. It's going to be the good old metal reinforcing mesh sheets from Bunnings. My Dad and I have kitted out a few cellars over the years with this and it's been gr...

Lake Breeze! That's a name I had forgotten about. First tried their wines back in the mid 90s. Fantastic value for money. Why don't we hear any chatter about Langhorne Creek? We need some young and trendy winemaker to put it back on the map. Is it's good enough for Wolfe then it's good enough for me...

Cooling for a new cellar.

Evening everyone. We're about to embark on a knock-down rebuild of our house and as part of it we're going to have a cellar. Hurrah! The house will be rated a touch over 9 stars so will not require much heating/cooling. The cellar, about 3.5m x 3.5m, will be off a TV room and mostly underground. I'm...

Re: What unpopular (wine) opinions do you have?

They are contravening labelling laws I don't think so... the labelling laws allow you to call a wine a single variety if that variety is more than 85% of the blend (850ml per litre), and also requires that if you do refer to the components of the blend you list the components in descending order of...
