Re: Jura recommendations
Some excellent recommendations above. The ones I would highlight are Labet (esp single parcel Chardonnay), Ganevat (despite high prices) Macle (esp. Cötes du Jura), Bénédicte et Stéphane / André et Mireille Tissot (accept no substitute Tissot!). Don't overlook Domaine de la Tournelle. Pélican is imp...

That was surprisingly disappointing. I really enjoyed the last one I had, this one not so

I have some ‘04s & I’m in no rush to open one.
Frustratingly missed the ‘10s on release & the price has subsequently shot up.

Beaune definitely better than Dijon, if wine is the focus. Excellent rail connections. Uber? Not a chance. Taxis - unreliable, along with limited bus services. Therefore, if you wish to visit the villages of Côte d’Or car hire best, though there are ‘guided tours’. Plenty of the large negociants in ...

Part of a recent local tasting. None decanted but corks pulled 4-6 hours in advance. [*] 2013 Roagna Langhe Rosso - Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Langhe DOC (09/05/2019) Very pale; smoky, touch of tar, typicité, complex; highly structured, grippy tannins, marked acidity, unforgiving finish. 15 years ago Pétrus ‘81. All these years on still yet to pay more, despite purchasing a Vega Sicilia ‘60, fairly recently.
And one that got away: Romanée-Conti ‘90 for £500, on release. Our children needed feeding & clothing.

I must concur Superb effort & great notes I had a lot of HP wines in the 1990s -cabernert 1994 still haunts me as being special and had some waxy age worthy Riesling. Intriguingly, when looking at my TNs I spotted a solitary note for HP Cab Sauv. It was the ‘94 & seemed over enthusiastic. I...
