Re: ARTICLE: Australia 2011 harvest 'too big', says AWF

Have to wonder at the AWF, headlines like that simply get the Australian consumer to expect reduced wine prices, and where do they see those reduced prices? At the supermarket chains, who are all about volume, and are ultimately responsible for the 'glut'. Taxing the $5 cleanskins and casks correctl...

US wines (avail. in Hawaii)

I'm having a holiday in Hawaii soonish, and was wanting to try some US made wines. Ideally I'd like to try those that are good examples of what US makers are capable of, without breaking the bank too badly even with the nice exchange rate. So to set some parameters, I'm after reds only, probably $20...

Re: The Eternal Search for a full Malolactic Chardonnay

Re: A tale of two wines

I have been unable to find anything but anecdotal evidence that storing wine in cool, dark, and no vibration conditions is best. ie. we are certain of those conditions historically. I did find a very simple test that suggested wine is affected by light and vibration, but it was a very basic test and...

Re: Wine Australia and Skillogalee Gewurz - ridiculous

As someone who has tried this wine, and in fact bought it, and as someone who is very sensitive to VA, I am baffled.

But they allow Hardy's stamp crap out of the country? Dollars in the right palms?

For those lucky to not be suffering the QLD floods and wanting to help, you can donate here: http://www.qld.gov.au/floods/

Remembering, as mentioned, that most insurance will not cover flood damage.

Re: Lazy Ballerina 2009 Reds

The real truth is James has quit making wine, he's now an author writing novel novels.

BTW, the 2008 is well worth getting despite it's different heritage to earlier vintages.
