Re: NZ Wine Trip Advice

Hi all As OP, now well advanced in our tour of this beautiful country. Your collective advices have been invaluable. Only visited a cross section of the suggestions as my nearest and dearest has only a limited interest in tastings. Amisfield - Certainly my favourite Pinot Noir, great cellar door, su...

NZ Wine Trip Advice

Hi All About to embark (March) on a 5 week tour of NZ as part of my long service leave, looking to visit some wineries. Keen to hear from anyone who had exceptional experiences at any particular wineries either North or South Island. Happy to focus on any grapes but Syrah or Cabernet blends are stil...

Yes, need to love Pinot, they were aware of that.

Those sound like great suggestions from the limited experience I've had from those wineries.

I'm sure the wine tastes better as well!
Great tasting experience at Brokenwood and Mt Pleasant last week during a brief Hunter detour.

We enjoyed Pooley. Make sure you try some of the Cabernet and Blend in Tas, they were the surprise for me.

2010 Spinifex Esprit - Probably the best rhone blend I have had for some time, very red fruited, medium weight and a surefooted elegance I normally associate with my preferred style of Pinot Noir. Wish I had bought more, two left. Bravo.

Received my blends, none of the straight Malbec or Shiraz or Cab which I also ordered. I can live with that, if you get your order pulled from the bag first and get the straight wines, good luck to you.
