Where to buy Barolo in Australia
Anyone know where I can buy some decent age worthy Barolo's online or in Melbourne?
I fell in love with them on a trip to the US and would love to buy some to put away
Are there any specialist importers or stores that sell it
many thanks

Re: Aussie producer bemoans bulk wine "dealers"
The unfortunate thing perhaps is that there's a perception in the UK that Australian wine = cheap. Very True. Moreso in the US as well. One saving grace could be the price of wines from Argentina and Chile entering the US market. With Malbec taking off in the US, here's hoping that some of those bu...

Re: Should Australia 'classify' it's wines?
Ian - thanks for the Yalumba link. It looks like I was thinking exactly what they were. Barossa will continue to explore sub-regionality for some time to come. It has been trying to lay down some standards for the region, and one area on which it has found agreement is a standard for classifying its...

Re: Aussie producer bemoans bulk wine "dealers"
Interesting question... The thing about bulk wine is a lot of overseas importers, particularly in the US, will bottle the wine themselves anyway and put a cheap and cheerful Aussie label on it anyway...think "Down Under Chardonnay" less than $3. Either way the same end product is going to ...

Re: How can a wine 'age' under a screwcap?
Thanks for the responses, I thought the same thing, that wine ages naturally because of the oxygen in the bottle and that light, movement and heat are it's natural enemies. You can't argue with potential clients, so I let them convince me that a wine needs a litle bit of continuos air in order to 'a...

Should Australia 'classify' it's wines?
Please let me know your thoughts on the following idea: -------------------------------------------------------------------- Australia is blessed with some of the oldest vines in the world, therefore could we try and create some sort of prestige in the world market by creating some form of classific...

Re: Yarra Valley Wineries and Lunch
For wines I would recommend Punt Road in Coldstream, their new Airlie Bank range is well under $30 and are really good regional expressions. The Shiraz VIognier is superb.
Pinot Noir is tough under $30

How can a wine 'age' under a screwcap?
G'day All, My first post on here. I'm an Aussie who runs an importing business based in Lima, Peru. Tonight I presented a tasting and one of the wines I presented was Lake Breeze Bernoota 2006. Everyone who tried it liked it and all agreed that it needed a good 3-5 years in the cellar however they a...
