Wow, that is an impressive Wynns tasting.

Bad luck that that 1982 John Riddoch was corked. That was our wine of the night when we had a Wynns tasting in late June with Sue Hodder.

I attended the Coonawarra Roadshow trade tasting in Melbourne a couple of weeks ago. Really impressed with the quality of the wines. 2024 wines were especially impressive. It is an outstanding vintage in Coonawarra.

Totally agree the 2024 BL Cabernet is one of the best vintages of this iconic wine.

What an experience. It was a joy organising it.

I tasted through the whole range of 2026 Wynnsday releases.

For me, the highlights were the three Black Label releases from the 2024 vintage - Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, and Cabernet Shiraz. The Cab Sav and Shiraz especially are excellent.

Sad news, but not surprising. We are producing far too much wine, especially in varieties that are not as popular as they used to be - Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. Most wineries are losing money. The industry needs a massive restructure.

Respectfully I disagree. I go to Mount Mary's Open Days, where they have back vintage Chardonnays open. Tasting them tells me they age very well. I also enjoy it as a young wine.

I took my full allocation - 2 x Quintet, 2 x Pinot Noir, and 2 x Chardonnay.

Sat this one out due to having too many wines in the collection. Still a fan of Callum's wines, and will purchase again next year.
