Re: Brisbane Offline 25 Oct 2024 - e'cco bistro

Thanks for the notes, Graeme, and ticklenow1 (Ian) for the photos. Interesting that a couple of Tasmanian whites featured - I had the pleasure of visiting Glaetzer-Dizon in Hobart a couple of weeks ago, and bought the Unerblanc (among others). I'm especially delighted that the Howard Park showed so...

What about '18 & 19? I have few bottles of these vintages of Moss Wood I'd be waiting a few more years before I opened either of them 2019 was a cooler vintage and may well be earlier drinking. 2018 was a stellar vintage and should reward longer term cellaring (and take longer to come around). ...

Re: Margaret River vintages

What do people think of 2020 and 2021? I believe 2022 and 2023 are getting some love but not really enough out there for convincing opinions. As others say the region is an embarrassment of riches. It’s hard to find anything from most producers that isn’t top notch. 2021 better than 2020 but not up...

Re: Margaret River vintages

In general, Margaret River has been remarkably consistent over the past 25 years. The 14s are drinking very well now but a are pretty well structured and I'd be inclined to drink the 15s before the 14s. 2011 was a super vintage, especially in comparison to most of the rest of Australia's red output...

vintage variation is minimal in margaret river, but I'd say the 2018 is the best of those three, with many proclaiming it the best-ever vintage in MR. I recall 2-3 years where it was grim in some of the South Aussie regions, yet Marg River sailed through the vintage with no concerns. I've not follo...

2008 Pierre Peters Les Chetillons… wow, just wow. This is a rockstar. Lifted floral and citrus on the nose and citrus fruits on the palate with a length that is simply stunning . Lots of saline and minerality on the finish. This is what a great, albeit young, BdB champagne looks like. Much better t...
