When we were there 2 years ago my wife and I were very impressed with a place called S Kidman wines.
Tiny little cellar door right at the top of the coonawarra.
They had some of the best VFM wines we tasted.
Zema and Balnaves were also good

Tannic wines can fuel the fire of spicy Thai dishes: As delicious as they are, highly tannic red wines such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Bordeaux and Barolo can be difficult to enjoy with spicy Thai cuisine. The wine’s warm temperature, alcohol content and mouth-puckering quality can exace...

VC single bottle price is $52.99. It's possible I'll never buy another Penfolds red to cellar, maybe the odd bottle to try, there are too many alternatives that attract me at present. That would definitely be the end of an era of drinking Penfolds reds that started for me about 40 years ago. I thin...

VFM sparkling Shiraz req
I've held to the belief for a while now that wine shouldn't have bubbles, but having tried a sparkling shiraz as part of a degustation dinner recently I've decided it's time I got over that. I'm looking for recommendations on good value for money bottles to give a try. Ideally in the uder $20 bracke...

Seems like a bit of an overeaction Matthew If this was a fully independant forum then the disclaimer you posted identifying you as selling the wine you referred to would probably have covered it. But it's not hard to see how posting links to your site on Gavin's would cause problems, given you're bo...

I had a Wynns 2001 (while label) shiraz the other night Was taken to a restaurant for a casual meal so no decanting and fairly ordinary glasses. Was nicely balanced and integrated. The large mouth-filling flavours have mellowed. Dark berries on the palate blending nicely with fine tannins and result...

I tried a bottle the other night poured half a bottle into a decanter and left it about half an hour and then drank over the next 2 hours or so Well balanced, lighter than say a barossa shiraz, but still nicely medium - full bodied. Quite closed but with dark berries and spices on the nose and palat...

Cellaring of screwcaps
Okay without getting into any of the arguments about which closure is better... What's the best way to cellar screwcaps? I have been just laying them down like those sealed with cork but I had a carton the other day arrive with "For long term storage Store this way up" advising me to store...

I had a bottle of the Taylors CS 2005 last night. Fresh bright and lively describes it well. Lots of fruit, subtle tannins and a nice light touch of oak. Could probably happily sit for a couple of years to mellow the fruit a touch but is very drinkable now. My fiance and I had no trouble polishing o...

There's a pic of the bottle I'm talking about here (sorry can't make it link as I'm new) They seem to talk about it as regular BL, but I was sure i'd seen 2004 with just the regular label. I paid about what you'd expect to for BL on special - so it's entirely possible it is. I was just a little conf...

Wynns 2004 BL 'Vintage release'
I picked up some various bottles the other day to make a mixed dozen of wines I'm considering getting more of including a couple of bottles of what I thought was regular wynns 2004 BL. When I took a closer look though they had "Vintage release" on the label above 2004 and a separate sticke...
