we use them instore on tasting bottles and they seem to work.

certainly wont work on sparkling, most wine shops should have stoppers, even promo ones that they'll hand out

a mate had one, worked pretty well and looks cool, i dont know any more than that. i have heard however that these can blow up bottles, especially older bottles or anything with a slight defect in the neck.
