07 Vintage - Long term cellaring prospects?
Have just been blessed with the birth of our 1st child and I am interested in birth year wines. What potential prospects can you recommend? Looking at Aussie reds - Single bottle or magnum. Any positive feedback appreciated.

Well here is my 2cents worth. Spent 15 months in Auckalnd and tried Larouse twice by the glass at cellar door restaurant about $25 NZ per glass. This was one of the best Kiwi reds I tried whilst over there. Especially a Cab Sav predominant blend if my memory serves me correctly? Value for money not ...

Well its late or early depending on your where you are in the world time scheme. More importantly, is the fact that I love wine. Now I support the underdog. However, I buy wine to drink now or in the future. I love wines that over deliver on price point. I love to bag the big corporates if possible ...

I was 1st able to detect TCA when touring wineries in McLaren Vale. A bottle offered for tasting was picked up as cork taint by a high flyer from the winery. He ordered the cellar door staff to open another bottle. Tasting the same wine (flagship Cab Sav) side by side really higlighted TCA affected ...

I agree with dlo re the overuse of american oak. Far too much vanilla. I think some low end wines exhibit this as well as a few higher priced wines. I prefer oaked wines in balance with fruit. I agree overuse of french oak is bad. However, I believe there is more instances in OZ wines of the over us...
