05 Tahbilk Merlot Went down a treat whilst cooking Scotch fillet on the BBQ. Not complicated but well balanced mid weight young wine 02 Reschke "Bos" Cabernet Ripe berries, and complex in mouth. No noticable acid imbalance (someone commented on an earlier post) but I am a big fan of Yarra...

I would think they would all be a pleasure to explore. In the last 2 weeks I have opened: 1. a 1978 Brown Bros port which was probably at the limit of its life but still in good condition and very enjoyable 2. A 1976 Buller port which had a perfect cork and at least another 10 years of legs left, ho...

Hi Atthapol I would take a Clare riesling like Pikes, Kilikanoon Morts Block, Mitchell or similar. I suppose a Chardonnay would also be fine but don't drink much of that so maybe someone else can comment. Had a 2003 Yarra Burn Pinot Chardonnay Rose sparkling last night which would be a treat to wash...

Good topic I don't go to tastings at cellar doors unless I have an intention to buy. I just feel its taking advantage. I have no problem not buying if there is nothing I like. One of the great benefits of cellar purchase is getting something that can't be obtained elsewhere. I always look for that. ...

Hi Brian Had the Reschke on the long weekend and did not notice the acid imbalance. Just heaps of blackcurrent pastille nose that carried to the mouth and nice fine tannins. I am a big fan of rich black fruit wines. I've nearly finished this cleanskin and its softening and losing some tone as its be...

Drinking a Hunter and joining the forum

Hi all Looking forward to talking with you all. I am sitting here with a 2001 Hunter Shiraz cleanskin from a large retailer which is bloody good, and just got home to find a case of Reschke Bos 2002 that I ordered had arrived. One of the best wines I have had in recent times. Hope you have all got a...
