Interesting

Hi TORB,

How do you access his Top 100 upon release? I usually see it months later via spurious and nefarious means :).

Best regards

This Weekend

Cold there Gavin, warm here but a Guiness goes down great regardless.
I did not see to many c-throughs but I've had my eye on a 1991 Long Vineyards Napa Valley Chardonnay that is eyeing me back. I think this weekend is it.

Thanks Craig

for the detailed notes. Coleraine has been a favorite for years and your notes are spot on. Have a great holiday.

Hi Michel,

Thanks for the comments. I usually wait 10 years for a wine such a this. Perhaps the time is more now.

Brian,

Good notes as always. I was not going to open my 98's for a few years yet
but may now sooner based on your thoughts.

I hear you Rob,

I use the ubiquitous waiters corkscrew while my better half uses an Ah So (Sp?). Typically what happens is I am succesful 75% of the time if I am very careful. The rest of the time she salvages the job with the Ah So. Oh well.

Hi Chris,

Generalizations are often times more dangerous than useful. Yours is a great example.

What are your favorite pairings with Late Harvest Rieslings?

German BA, TBA and Eiswein and to a lesser degree SGN Rieslings from Alsace or comparable. Must be Riesling though, no other white varietals made in a Late Harvest style.

Thanks

Something older in an ageworthy white, Yeringberg Marsanne/Rousanne 95 or maybe a Long Vineyards Chardonnay 93 from Napa Valley. Sometimes young and full of vigor, sometimes mature and more laid back I guess.
