Haven't poked my head in here for a while.... hope you are all well
2013 Trinity Hill Gimblett Gravels Syrah .... cracking wine from what is potentially a classic vintage for the region. Great clarity and finely detailed gear... very elegant wine.

Re: 2012 Sydney Royal Easter Show Results
Sam & Craig, Like I said in my previous post you can only look at what is in the glass in front of you on the day....and of course wines are going to show differently at different shows. A wine you try yourself will taste differently according to the setting you have it in (cellar-door, on the p...

Re: 2012 Sydney Royal Easter Show Results
Yes - and the comments in the catalogue are appropriately scathing for many classes! I heard Riggs say at the 2011 show the gold mdeal rate was 6%. I'd be surprised if 2012 matched that. Dave, I see you got the "Acres of beige" unwooded whites class. Bummer. cheers, GG Graeme....pretty ac...

Did any of you bother to read the judges class comments in the results....as with any show, you look at what's in the glass in front of you on the day...that is all that you can do.

Methinks Mr Miller is about to implode after his latest episode in Spain. I would think Parker will dump him before he erodes his WA brand beyond repair. EDIT: Sorry....some context is probably needed..... m Well it looks like he's no longer associated with the WA. m Hi Nayan....yeah just read that...

These articles are really a load of bollocks. Ian....what's the issue with moving domestic stock of the first blend to export markets if the need is there???.....granted they should have been happy to sell out and left it at that. I've read it a a few places but their own website and social media channels would probably be a good start I think over here people are like a bit "meh....that's a pretty crap thing to do....I'm not going to buy their wines again" rather than foaming at the mouth for a couple of reasons......

I dont know who is having a lend of who here. This is Campbell Mattinsons review of the wine dated June 2010 It’s the archetypal rich-but-soft, dark-fruited Barossan shiraz. It’s excellent drinking. It has assertive oak-derived notes of toast and malt but its rich blackberried core of...

Yeah....early to mid-eighties. Leoville-Las-Cases started using reverse osmosis in 1987 and these days it is all pretty high tech. Did the en primeur last year and a lot of the wines were more like Napa Cabernets than Bordeaux's.

We had a tasting at a beach house North of Sydney at the same time last year so it was the anniversay of that event.... Highlights....the 1949 Bordeaux's were in fantastic shape and beautiful wines (a pity they don't make them like that any more though)....1993 Rousseau was awesome, likewise Seppelt...
