My partner's good friend was the Marketing Manager at Kilikanoon and we were offered some cleanskins She said that they were made by their Vineyard Manager/Viticultralist with the help of Kevin Mitchell, their wine maker. It was 2006 Shiraz 95% Barossa / 5% Baroota. It was aged 18 months in French a...

Thanks everyone for all of your suggestions. Here's my current strategy: 3 Rockford Basket Press 2005 6 Digger's Bluff Museum Release Watchdog (98,99,00) (I just love the 01 so wanted to try some further developed wine) 1 Penfolds Grange 1986 1 Penfolds Grange (Lessor vintage TBD) 1 Clonakilla Shira...

Thanks guys - these are some good ideas. I was thinking of having a crack at one of the 'non-mint' Granges they sell on Langtons - say an '83 or perhaps even a '71 if available. It looks like you can find a high shoulder or damaged label for not too dear. I know there is some risk in these, though. ...

I've found everyone on this forum to be really friendly until now. How about giving a new guy a break, Wizz? I'm sure you've probably covered heaps of topics on this forum and if this question bores you, then perhaps don't answer. I thought someone might find it interesting. It was fun for me to rea...

You've got $1500 - what do you buy?
Only rules are that you must spend it all and must buy wine that is readily available in Australia.
If buying from Langtons, you can use most recent prices paid, but must also include the 15% mark-up.
What would you buy?

Lately, I have been in love with two quite reasonable reds. You'll have to excuse my descriptions as I'm relatively new to posting and providing tasting notes: 2005 St. Halett Blackwell Shiraz $35-ish: Lush, rich, big berry decadence. Coats your glass and is full of that Barossa earthyness. I could ...

I've only been collecting for the past 2 years, and so I have yet to acquire much. Here's a list of my favourites from my small but growing collection: 74 (birth year)/03/04 St Henri 84/92/97 Grange (not the best vintages, I agree) 05 Mt Mary Quintet 05 Glaetzer Amon Ra 04 Rockford Basket Press 05 T...

I live in NSW (Sydney) and was getting semi-nervous about my order (I found myself checking my visa account online each day). I called today to check and was told that I would most likely get 4 of the 6 Shiraz that I ordered. Not exactly what I'd hoped for, but I am new to the list and I'll take wha...

I went to the Sydney clinic and couldn't have been happier with my experience. The staff were so nice, accommodating and approachable. I took a bottle of 1974 St Henri, which I bought at auction (due to it being my birth year) and didn't think I'd have much luck with it. I know the vintage was prett...

Hi everyone, I'm completely new to this forum and this is my 1st post so apologies if I've missed something along the way. I'm a recent member of the Wendouree mailing list, have also received the 'red mark' on my order form, and have sent in my order. Last year, I wrote Wendouree and was able to bu...
