Re: Zero alcohol wine

I am certainly a fan of non-alc beer (I try not to drink Monday to Thursday, so having a nice beer after work is a pleasure), but I am yet to find a decent non-alc wine (and I would be very keen to find one). Hopefully interest will lead to some decent developments. I was unimpressed with 'Non' drin...

2020 Wines that will go the distance

Hi everyone.

My daughter was born last year, and I would love to buy her one or more bottles of wine that she can try from her 21st onward.

Does anyone have any suggestions for bottles that will last the distance and had a good year last year?

Thanks so much!

Re: First time in Adelaide and Barossa Valley

Hopefully you can make this happen! I think your best bet is to call the Barossa Tourism Centre and ask which tours will be running (as I assume they would know). If you need ideas on where to visit, the old threads are great, but there are some newer wineries also worth a look so feel free to ask f...

Absolutely agree with this one! I've bought a bunch of Vinteloper wines today to help out.

Amaro - My new curiosity

Hi everyone, I've recently discovered Amaro Montenegro (an Italian digestive for those who haven't come across it). I love the semi-sweet, slightly bitter citrus notes on this beautiful drink which led me to be curious about other Amaros out there. As a fan on Never Never's gins, I thought I'd give ...

Limestone Coast trip

Hi everyone, I feel somewhat guilty for only raising my head these days to ask for advice on trips, but I'm down in Cape Jaffa for the next few days, and am keen for suggestions on where to check out in the area. I've found the excellent list of Coonawarra wineries not to miss in an earlier thread, ...

Where to visit - Mornington Peninsula

Hi everyone! I'm back after something of a hiatus having changed jobs and being somewhat preoccupied with life. Hope everyone is well. We are taking an impromptu trip to the Mornington Peninsula and I wondered if anyone had suggestions as to which wineries we should visit. So far I've seen good thin...

My apologies everyone - Life got in the way of this!

Would Sunday the 29th work for anyone, or else any other date in the next week or so?

Otherwise, post-easter may be best. Sorry again for dropping the ball :(

Love the idea of an offline picnic/BBQ in March when our guests are in town! Could our interstate friends let me know exact availability so we can coordinate?

Any interest in an Adelaide 'best value' wine offline?

Hi everyone, I hope we are all doing well - I haven't really fulfilled my promise of being more active, so I thought I'd try and force myself back by organising an offline. Seeing as last time was 'sell a kidney', I thought it might be an idea to have a reverse theme: Your favourite bargain wine. By...

2013 wines to develop over time

Hi everyone, I hope all is well with everyone - I've had a bit of a hiatus but am now back, and I have a question for the wise people of the Auswine Forum: I got married in 2013, and I would like to start a tradition of opening a 2013 vintage each year on our anniversary (inspired by Monghead's mont...

[For the NZers] Wineries between Queenstown and Christchurch

Hi everyone, A question for our NZ forumites: I'll be travelling to a conference in Queenstown later this week, and then driving up to Christchurch. I won't have much time, but wondered if there were one or two wineries it might be worth stopping by for a quick taste at. I appreciate this isn't nece...

Re: Buying a port keg

Good point, Michael. Probably not a great sign! I've spotted the Keg Factory's products before, and they look amazing, but are a bit high on the budget side of things. I'm assuming I'll come to the conclusion that there is no keg is better than a crappy keg, but I was hoping there'd be something in ...

Buying a port keg

Hi everyone, I'm about to hit send on an order to Gavin for some fortifieds from the sale, but have nowhere to store them. I've finally managed SWMBO to let me buy a port keg, but am doing so on a rather limited budget. I've seen lots of artisan coopers putting out items around the $3-500 mark, but ...

Rifle Range is a great wine - personally I think that the Moppa Springs is the underrated gem in the Rockford stable, but RR is an excellent wine. I might have to pull one out for some re-acquaintance this weekend!

I haven't been, but have heard excellent things about Yelland and Papps. I'm also a big fan of Rolf Binder's work and he has a lovely cellar door. For accommodation in the Barossa, I like Lawley Farm (down the road from Rockfords), but my wife insists that it is haunted. Whilst you're in town are yo...

I've been many times. One of my favourite places in the world. In terms of where to stay, you can't go past La Petite Ferme in Franschoek. Wineries: My favourite is a place called Sterhuis (m). Contact Johan and ask for a tasting. It's private in his lounge room and well worth it! The Spice Route is...
