Criticism wanted on which wine to open

G'day again lads, I have Christmas at the olds sorted, just have to decide what to open on boxing day. I don't have an extensive cellar, i don't really have much at all, so my jewels are very young. So one will be opened on Boxing day this year. I know it is not ideal to be opening any of these wine...

An apology to Ron Laughton.

Recently i bagged the crap out of a 02 Jasper Hill Georgias Paddock. After bagging it i had my brother over who has no idea about good wine, i opened my last 02 and tried to palm it off to him, He drank to thirds of it, but i have seen him drink a cask of moselle quicker So i said to myself, yup shi...

Re: What are you drinking with what on Xmas day?

Chardonnay in this neck of the woods.

08 Savaterre
08 Cullen
07 LEAS

should be an enjoyable afternoon.

Boxing Day is Bourbon day BBQ and swimming, if it ever gets hot enough.

RP, big aussie shiraz and ageing

Hi guys, What are your thoughts on Parkers ratings of young aussie reds? Does he get it wrong with regards to the ageing ability of them? I've found i like his style of shiraz, but haven't had any aged that he has liked. Lets take for instance the Clarendon Hills Astralis Syrah, RP gave it 99 points...

It's amazing what a basic search with the words "1995 and Australis" in the search box turns up around here: http://forum.auswine.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=6623&p=47248&hilit=1995+astralis#p47248 http://forum.auswine.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=8777&p=64977&hilit=1...

1995 Astralis TN's?

Hey guys been a while,

Just became the owner of one of these, can't find any decent TN"S, plenty of RP but not of the 1995.

The wine seems very overated from what i have read today online.

Anyone here had the 1995? also is it true these wines need 20 to 50 years?

thanx

Driving home from golf, couldn't find anywhere to buy decent bottle due to being good Friday. To my surprise there were 2 bottles of the 96 Orlando Jacobs creek limited...
