My favourite is a one litre water jug which happens to pour beautifully. Second favourite is the Zerutti Turn - I don't own one but have drunk plenty out of other peoples I think the Riedels are too heavy - especially as the night wears on and coordination diminishes I have an Orrefors nice enough ...

1) Hollick (Nectar Botrytis Riesling), Brand's of Coonawarra Limited Release Botrytis Semillon.
2) For me, they are considerably softer, and have more red fruits.
3) Haven't release yet?

A few NZ pinots. Mount Difficulty 2001 This wine doesn't have many faults, but just tasted like Ribena to me. Yuk. Escarpment Vineyard 2001 Complex and thick wine with a very acid finish (much better as it opens up), very earthy. Still relatively close at this stage. Muddy Water 2001 Light and a bit...

I tried to drank red wines after deserts, but found the deserts always induce a bitter and astringent taste in the mouth.

Any specific rule to match wine with chocolates?

If my memory serves me correctly, I read an article (from JH) on how Ken Helm based the style of his rieslings on german ones. I haven't tried them though. Also excellent are Crawford River riesling and Seppelt Drumborg riesling. They have less alcohol, and are softer than the Clare Valley ones. Alan

I think the vintage either refers to 1) The vintage of the actual barrel like that of seppelt 100 year old para liqueur port, or 2) The vintage of the actual bottle (a blend of a number of vintages) According to JH, tawny actually can age (mostly by evaporation) and research has shown that the sugar...

No I don't score the wines I have drunk. They are too different to be compared. I think it is important to appreciate the different characteristics of a wine rather than to generalize it as a number. My notes do the job for me. You can generally remember how good a wine was anyway; if you forget, ma...

David,

They are not fortified, so just as you can't call a pinot that tasted like Shiraz a Shiraz, they are not a port.

The real question is how do they taste like in a blind tasting.
