Re: Visit to Hong Kong (not wine related, well, not directly
Hello all best wishes of the season. I am heading off later this year to France via Hong Kong. I was hoping to seek some expertise and experience from the fine folks here who may have visited those parts. I am initially seeking recommendations for accommodation in Hong Kong? Who's stayed somewhere ...

Re: Wine in South East Asia.
Good morning, In about 12 days (but who's counting?) I disappear to South East Asia, where I'll be spending the following four months meandering through Singapore, Malaysia (both Peninsula and Malaysian Borneo), Laos, and Thailand. Since I'm not really in to the typical 20 something backpacker crow...

Unfortunately it is not just in the US. I am an Aust. wine importer to Singapore and see a lot of importers are putting so much fat margins...it is just unbelievable! Esp. those got high Parker poniters. eg. torbreck steading selling price here is not far off on st. henri On top of this, big superma...

Well I haven't watched the program so can't really comment on it but on the basis of what's been posted, I would like to add my views, and experiences as a wine wholesaler in the past in ACT and Sydney. I read numerous articles of how big players are hurting small independents and yes in a way I hav...

Brucer I tend to agree, I tried an 02 RSW recently and it wasn't all that. Felt like it was a bit on the slide, unless it was in a hole of course...? I figured I might not wait too long either. Has anyone tried 97 RSW? I tried it about 2 years ago, wasn't oxidised nor corked, just nothing (read as ...

Kilikanoon Oracle 2004 Just goes to show that you can be big and still enjoyable to the last drop. Still showing tons of fresh black fruit but does not have the cloying nature of the Eclipse. Very bloody nice wine. Bloody good wine indeed, just hangs around on the palate, seriously long finish. It'...

1996 Wynns Michael Shiraz - drinking very well at the moment and would say it is on its peak now. very smooth(mellow) on the palate, good balance no harshness whatsoever. The only thing I would criticise is the length was bit short on back palate otherwise pleasant to drink. 2005 Valletta McLaren Va...

Definitely not a La Testa blend, wrong wines. Tony released this on his own (but where did the wine come from? Anyone know?) Cheers, Mark You are right Mark, it is not a La Testa Blend. As this wine has merlot in it too compare to the Blend. Tony made this wine to sell outside Oz, but who knows he ...

Graeme, A great dinner...the last time I tried a 707 was the 94 (in 2003), and I felt similar emotions to you on the 93...plenty of time left, but where is it going? Yet I've heard others say that the 90 and 91 are brilliant wines, I'm looking forward to tasting one that fulfils the expectations th...

New to the forum
Have been surfing this forum for sometime now to see what they say about wines they drink. Even though I am in a wine business, don't have much confidence of describing how wine tastes, but think I know what I like and don't like. Anyway, I will try my best to give my honest opinions that I get to d...
