Savaterre 2002 Pinot Noir

Post by gastrorob »

This is good. Maturing nose of cherries and earth, long drying but floral palate, but with some soft tannin structure. Lovely, but will hold for a few years yet.

Hi Gastrorob

I don't suppose you've tried the 2004? I've acquired 3 bottles without tasting them first (auction) and would appreciate a TN. Also, is the 2002 peaking? Like Aussie chardonnay, I don't tend to give Aussie pinot more than about 5 years normally, but would be happy to be proved wrong!

Cheers

Allan

The 2002 is at it's peak now, but will hold for a bit. According to CM the 2004 is of high quality and long-lived, drinking window 2010-2016.
