How to Open A Bottle Of Wine Without Corkscrew

Post by KMP »

This is a video made by Sorin Mihailovici (Edmonton, Canada). The idea is rather ingenious. But it does have problems, like what if you had bought a bottle with a screwcap, or what if you don't have the screw. screwdriver and hammer? And I'll bet it won't work with the corks in my older bottles of St Henri. But hey, Sorin works in a liquor store while he studies TV production. What better way to learn his craft than apply it to wine?

Here's a video of how to get a cork out of an empty bottle - very cool!

That was very impressive, but what was the inflatable thing?

Most times when I have forgotten the waiters friend I have forgotten the long screw, screwdriver & hammer also.

If I ever have a cork that I want to get out of an empty wine bottle I will remember this one.

My main method of opening wine without a corkscrew has always been to just cover the top & push the cork in with whatever will fit.
