Craig's 6 most expensive (or 10 if you like) wines

I'm going to jump in here...

Whilst I can't name ten off the top of my head, here are some of the dearer wines I've bought:

1998 Fromm TBA (half)
MV Krug (magnum)
1998 Henschke Hill of Grace
1966 Penfolds Bin 389
1996 Penfolds Grange
1997 Gaja Darmagi
1997 Luce

None of those wines cost me more than $300 though, which I consider some imaginary boundary that would require something super special to breach. The Grange and HoG will remain unopened for quite some time, the TBA and Krug Magnum were ethereal, with the other three not performing like I'd hoped.

My most expensive was a bottle of 1985 Grange, at about A$350. Nice, but not mind-blowing, if my memory serves me right.

What is rapidly becoming my most valuable wine is a case of Chateau Suduiraut 2001, bought en primeur in honour of my son's birth in that year. It cost me GBP330 for the case but I've seen it changing hands for twice that, and it's still at least 10 years away from its peak. I just have to figure out how to get my case over from the UK without ruining it............

That wine is da bomb!! I bought it retail here - 750ml bottles. Now it costs basically as much for a 375ml! Was a super buy

Looks like this thread is just one for voyeurs instead of contributers, 560+ views, 6 contributions. I guess people think its like asking the colour of your undies or you salary?? :lol:
