To date I am extremely impressed with the following:
02 Gemtree Uncut Shiraz - great complexity and a step-up from a good 01
02 O'Leary Walker Shiraz - these guys are getting very consistent
02 Kaesler Stonehorse - this packs $60+ punch for $30.
Apart from 2001 WA, save your $'s, as 2002 SA is looking fantastic!
2002 SA Shiraz - looking good
Pana,
Thanks, for your informative posting, which incidentally could not have arrived at a better time as I am presently looking at the next batch of wine purchases.
I tend to cherry pick eg 96, 98 and some 99's to date, from what I have read the SA vintage for 2000 was ho hum, the 2001 good and the 2002 outstanding in the Barossa Valley and Clare for reds.
At this stage, I will save my pennies, and await for the 2002 vintage.
AS PENNIES ARE HARD TO COME BY, THE THOUGHTS OF FORUM MEMBERS AND GUESTS ON THE "POTENTIAL" OF THE 2002 VINTAGE WOULD BE MOST APPRECIATED.

George, no need to YELL, you can use the bold (b) function in your posts. In answer to your question check this out. http://www.torbwine.com/index.htm?..//pa/2003/Vintage%20Perspective.htm
Have just come back from Barossa and Clare and concur with the thoughts of forumites.
For the record, a number of the winemakers believe the '02s will be better than their '98s. Unfortunately, it seems though, that some of the wines will be higher in alcohol than the 98s - perhaps a symptom of RP's influence. The Darkie (Stelvin) was at 15.7% from memory.
At this stage, most wineries still have the 2000 and 2001 vintages for sale.
For those interested, Kaesler 2002 Stonehorse (multi trophy winner) is on a pre-release sale for mail order customers at $25pb. IMO, a bargain.
