First time post...thought I might ask the age old question...good everyday drinking under $20?

Please include TN & prices with your posts.

Cheers

Just about everything. you'd be hard pressed to find a bad wine from 2004 2005 2006.

If you look at wines in the $18 - $25 RRP price and search for the best prices you'll end up paying $13 - $18 and they will virtually all be top notch.

Have a look through Gavin's list for tasting notes.

This is not a plug for our host Auswine but you could do far worse than getting a mixed case of under $20 reds from Gavin because in the past 12 months he's discovered some serious over deliverers in this price bracket.

I tried a range of 2004 reds from an unknown Eden Valley winery called Fernfield that just blew us out of the water for their QPR. I'm hoping Gavin stocks them because they are a must buy for me, the Merlot was an eye opener, their "Pridmore" Shiraz just superb.

If you have not already, check out Winorama, loads of tasting notes and other such details on current releases.

Although nowhere near as prolific, we have a fair few tasting notes over at Winetastic as well, and do tend to focus on wines around the $20 mark.

Hope our host doesnt mind the gratuitous self promotion.

Some I regularly buy for the peasants

Yarra Burn Shiraz Viognier
St Hallet Gamekeepers (great BBQ wine)
Jim Barry Clare Riesling
Braided River Sav Blanc (NZ)
Delatite Riesling
Kilikanoon Killerman's Run Shiraz
Seppelt Sparkling Shiraz
St Hubert's Chardonnay

My regular buys for the peasants (ie, me!) are

Voyager Sem Sauv Blanc
Plantagenet Riesling - but many rieslings around $20 are good
Woodlands Cab Merlot (better on the second night)
Yalumba Barossa Shiraz Viognier (ditto)
Glaetzer Wallace

all are are around 20$ (in Perth, so probably cheaper elsewhere), or less on special

Hi everyone (this is my first post so i thought I'd say hello)

The 2005 Petaluma Riesling is about $20 (maybe just over) and is outstanding value for money

(Also isn't the Voyager Estate a Sav Blanc Sem)?

Read the Sticky post at the top of this forum and probably pick a different username.

Life's too short to drink white wine and red wine is better for you too! :-)
