making excuses isnt a skill you guys often need to exercise, so feel free to practice now
continue the excuses I had my "no bond, no oram, no vetorri" excuse all lined up but dont need it!!
Game 1: Won by 10 wickets
Game 2: 2nd most successful run chase ever. chasing down 330 odd
Game 3. Beating that to get 2nd most successful chase ever again chasing 347
amazing cricket against any country but against the 2nd best team in the world its just awesome!!

Well NZ had to win one eventually.
Not taking anything away from the NZ win, but either Australia are in a bad slump or they dont want to have all that pressure on themselves before the World Cup. From a Aussie fans point of view I hope its the latter. Then again No Symonds,Lee,Ponting, Ghilcrist etc and even the Best team in the World is going to struggle against a top 5 team on their own turf.

Umm yeah its a slump the worst loss in Australias one day history, and the only thing that might soften the blow to the Australian 'EGO' was the fact that we (NZ) also lost to England.
Now its a toss up the 2002 Pegasus Bay Aria or the 2002 Te Mata Coleraine to celebrate the victory????

My Wife insists that the ODIs are all scripted by Aaron Spelling. I think its probably 'battle fatigue'. If you look at any team there are few players that have high levels of consistency (Ponting tends to be an exception to the rule) Individuals tend to hit form at different times and I guess if you have enough of them that hit form together, you have a winning team. There is a 'psychological' element as well (when you have hit the bottom like the Poms there is only one way to go) In the case of the Kiwis it was a brief display of form.

Craig,
it was not a real game as they were wearing their bananas in pyjamas outfits instead of the proper dark green ones, thus it does not count.
Mike.
PS - Well done.

Try the 2006 Pegasus Bay Aria if you can get hold of it. It's sensational. Best yet I reckon - so good I had to ramble on about it.

Bacchus is aheads of me, he tried it at winenz. I havent tried it but bought a couple yesterday.
I thought the 04 aria was good but not brilliant. 06 obviously back around 02 standard?

Yup it is good but my mind (tastebuds have long since forgotten its exact golden qualities) is still in love with the 02 .. will have to get Craig(NZ) to open a bottle and try both together .. besides can't remember much of the glass I had @ WineNZ .. had just done 100 odd red wines and palate was gagging for some moisture!!
Craig(NZ) is just jealous, and really needs to get out more!!

GG
The good old Kookaburra eh? Saturday afternoon at the flicks, after the Movietone News there were serials of Tarzan, Superman or the Lone Ranger before the main feature. Bags of mixed lollies and saving up for the Davey Crockett "coonskin" (rabbit and fox) hat....
Thanks GG, now I feel old.
Cheers

Yeah well, win some lose some. Some good signs for the world cup though with the 3 Hs making scores and White too.
Craig(NZ) wrote:ok im not going to start another NWR post but wow, even I thought we were dead and buried trying to chase 337.
A rare ODI series win over Australaia
Now all they need to do is see sense and dump tuffey and replace with martin
Bring back Chris Harris more miserly than a scotsmans wallet!!

4/41 10th over. Unbelievable. Chase down 349! Great reality check for the Aussies. Thanks Kiwis for the high tune up. I reckon it would be fantastic if the Kiwis could be part of the Sheffield Shield (Puke cup). Tassie is on top. They beat the Vics in the last over on Sunday. Imagine if we had NZ in the comp?
It would be good for cricket.
Congratulations NZ on your self belief. Well deserved win. NZ always give a good fight.

Sorry, I apologise. Where's the 'stirring the pot' icon?
Not sure about most of the World Cup squad but Stuie McGill is a wine and food buff. Mattie Hayden having published a recipe book, it wouldn't surprise if he was interested in wine too.
The Kiwis seem to think they've already won the world cup - how did they go against the Yarpies in their last series against them?
We never write off a wounded aussie .. they may have lost 3 nil (still sounds great to my ears) but but we still are perfectly aware
Bring on the World Cup, the sooner the better as our boys have their backs up now!! Confidence is everything and Aussie have had it in abundence in years!!
BTW As for cultured Aussies I believe Mr Lee has released a single on the Indian music market although that was probably like releasing the latest Nederburg Rose on the Freanch Bordeaux market.

No Gilchrist

Cheers,
A disgruntled, sore loser.
85-86 and it's still a sore point. But, at least 86 was a great vintage in South Australia. And pretty good in Bordeaux too. There, back on topic.
cheers,
Graeme

Literally Best 4 players there.
I havents seen any odds but if I was a bookie I would still have Australia ahead of NZ, Probably next to Sri Lanka, Pakistan with NZ next to South Africa.
