Hi,
I am just heading off this weekend to the Barossa (childless) for the Melbourne long weekend. So I will have Sat - Mon for visiting cellar doors. Used to do this trip annually before children. However was after some recommendations on some good cellar doors to visit currently. We like good reds (but under tight budgetary constraints nowadays).

Planning:

Rockford, Villa Tinto, Dutschke, Kalleske, Turkey Flat, Glaetzer and am after some extra pointers.

Any and all input welcome.

Many Thanks
Mark

Two weeks ago Glaetzer had the "sold out" sign on the front gate. If you haven't made arrangements with Kalleske and Dutschke already, might be worth doing in advance.

Davo's list is pretty thorough.

I would recommend Charles Melton, Two Hands, Rockford, Yalumba and although they are not technically Barossa, you are still close enough to visit Henschke and Mount Adam. Also try Greenock Creek if they are available...but only if you are not claustrophobic - when I went a few years ago the quaint cellar door was the size of a cupboard, although worth the squeeze for the wine and a chat with the winemaker.

A lot of the other Barossa wineries are not worth the effort of getting out of the car, in my opinion.
