Just thought I'd post a few tasting notes on here. The first two were had during a dinner party, so they are impressions only. The second two were had during dinner at the Lakehouse, so are also mostly impressions.
1994 John Riddoch (Magnum) Decanted for about 30mins. Started off quite closed, with the fear that maybe it was corked. But after a while it opened up beautifully, with a nose full of fruit, a touch of mint and a core of fruit on the palate to match. In my opinion, I don't think there is any hurry to drink this wine.
1998 Seppelt St Peters. Plums, liqourice and spice. This is good drinking now.
N/V Curly Flat. crisp, fresh apple and pear. Strawberries and yeasty toasted brioche. Touch of nectarine. Very clean and fresh.
2003 Mount Mary Pinot Noir. decanted. Took ages to open up. Aromas of forest, strawberries, eucalyptis, and even a touch of vanilla. Rhubarb compote and cherries on the palate. Very complex wine, needing years to open up.
