Upon opening the bottle massive, pleasant, dense aromas of plum. Slightly sweet but in my experiences - the most pleasantly smelling wine i have smelt.
Unfortunately, palate seemed over oaked and was a very small hint of bitterness in the finish. Tannins were at the right level no problem there.
Wasn't decanted and improved with time, but i wouldnt say decanting would make this bottle a winner.
No hint of cork taint at all.
For my own notes i added i'd buy again for </= $15 just to test, paid $18 and that was already reduced from $23.
