I haven't tasted it, but they won't have any trouble selling it at $100/bottle. Practically every reviewer has given it close to their highest rating. Just like the previous Chook Block ( 98 ).

Tried it at CD a few weeks back when I was looking around with a US visitor Paul Record from Pheonix.
Was it good? yes. Is it worth $100 bottle? maybe. Like many wines, the RRP is a product of quality, rarity, desirability, marketability.
I'm sure it will race out the door to those who covet it. As for me I'd be putting my $100 elsewhere, like 2003 Kalleske Johann Georg or a downpayment on 2002 Torbreck RunRig or almost any Greenock Creek Roennfeldt Road.

I tasted it last week and was extremely impressed, and procured 12 bottles of the stuff. (SWMBO bought a 6-pack using her CC as well, thus avoiding the 6 bottle/customer limit.)
I am a huge fan of both RSW and the Angelus (which is IMHO possibly even better than the RSW). If RSW was to your liking then this definitely will be. I've never tried the '98 Chook Block, so can't compare.
Wirra is (and always has been) one of my favourite vineyards and I thought it was worth $95. But each to his own.

Support Manning's comment re the 2002 Angelus, starred at a recent auswine panel tasting, very very classy stuff, as good as the RSW was IMO.

I opened one of my 6 pack already and thought it was pretty good. I didnt like the nose at all it almost put me off with its strong onion type smell. The palate though was delicious, it opened up nicely with plenty of fruit & no alcohol spirit at all which is good for a wine of 15%. It was very very sweet at times which was a suprise. It will be interesting to see how this relates to its ageing? Ive had worst wines at that price.

For what its worth i tried the 1999 Angelus about 2 months ago and it was fantastic.
WW have increased their pricing on the Ang and RSW, so $30 sounds good to me.
