I was given a 2001 Dead Arm magnum on the weekend as a gift. Just wondering if someone can give me some rough notes etc regarding it.

is what the giver clearly has - previous vintages of Dead Arm have been big, rich, long-living shirazes, highly rated by all & sundry. The 2001 is most likely an absolute beast, especially in magnum - put it somewhere safe & cool & forget about it for at least 10 years - in fact, properly cellared, it would make a great 18th or 21st birthday offering for someone born in 2001.
