UK Prices for Penfolds Block 42 & Bin 60A
UK Prices for Penfolds Block 42 & Bin 60A
I am reading the latest issue of the UK magazine Wine International, and they review the 2 new Penfolds en primeur reds, the 04 Block 42 and Bin 60a.
The Block 42 Cabernet gets 97 points, drink 2005-2030 and
the Bin 60a gets 98 points, drink 2008-2035.
Thats great, but the retail prices quoted are a bit sad for us Aussies!
108.25 UK pounds each. That works out to be about $252 each. A far cry from what I believe we have to pay, which is $449.

Hopefully, like the 1998 Grange, it will not sell over there, so in a few months wholesalers will be shipping it all back to Australian shores and flood the market, thereby reducing the price to under half of what it initially retails for.
Cheers

Read first news today of their release here in Canada as futures with delivery in 2007. Both priced at $330Can. ($305 Au). with option of either cork or screwcap. Usual procedure for futures with LCBO is 3 bottle minimum, 50% down now and balance on delivery. Might order 3 with a friend and enjoy together down the road.
