Hi All,
I have to do a presentation on Barossa vs McLaren Vale Shiraz. Do any of you know any websites/papers that do a good comparison between the two. If so, please let me know, as it will be a huge help.
Cheers! :D

Taste the same to me as most OZ wines.

Another discerning palate ruined by too many pints of warm bitter ale...

RedDog,

You should visit Warrabilla and meet your namesake (just had to slip that in for the anon poster).

Here are a few links you can start with, it's not as easy to find this info as I thought, maybe others have better sources for you.

You're a gun RedBigot. Thanks a heap.

I had better change my name if Smithy's nickname is RedDog. I'll change it to RedPup.

Maybe, maybe not, the Warrabilla Red Dog is the friendly old cellar door pooch, not smithy himself.

Reddog
Your'e safe with the name .
Reddog is a 10 year old Queensland red Heeler.(and a warrabilla institution)
If he wants to fight you for the name i'd give it to him, but he's pretty good natured, and his typing sucks, so you should be right.

Cheers
Smithy

I think I'm safe then for a few more years....you have to be over 13 years old to register don't you, and RedDog is only 10. :D

It is bloody hard to find a direct comparison paper/weblink on the Barossa v Vale. Interesting, considering the interest shown in the Shiraz from these two regions.

Wasn't there a Winestate issue a few years ago about this very topic? I think it just reviewed wines from both regions but from memory they had a bit of a write up on the 2 regions with the broad individual differences.

No Probs, a few people think we are the split personalities of the same person, others seem to think there is a horde of us aging baldies out there. ;-)

I had a look through my selective stack of Winestate back issues, I keep a few for posterity, back to about 88/89, but not the Nov/Dec 2001. :-( Some one will no doubt have a copy...
