I guess McWilliams Wines thinks eBob has all the answers!
See this post.

My question is, why not try a research/academic institute?
We have quite a comprehensive wine research sector in Australia, why not utilise the resources we have?
Additionally, the scope of the question is huge, but simultaneously quite self explanatory.
Cheers,
Colin.

You also have to wonder if there is "a problem" they are trying to solve.

Not to ruffle feathers, or to minimize this board in anyway, but one reason for posting on the Squires BB may be that it gets so much more traffic. Of course, that's no reason not to post here as well.

Can't believe a responsible person in a major wine company would trawl for advice on a public site like that.
It looks as if they've got a problem they can't solve themselves.
Not a good look for the company in any way.
Yes Mike, I'd be quietly asking in Australia rather than going public in what is predominantly the US.
Wonder if someone will get their butt kicked over this gaff?

He got one answer that most of us could have given him, and that he probably knew or had been given already. And I would imagine he has access to the journal suggested by the other reply! Poor guy is probably sweating bullets if he's trying to quickly solve a problem. If he's just doing this as part of some sort of educational exercise then he really should not be putting McWilliams name to it!

He made it look very formal with his signature, so he is either very naïve or his boss has let him do it. Either way I’d say one or both might be in a bit of trouble. There are a lot of in-the-business folks who look at the eBob forum and this stuff will certainly do the rounds.

Could the post be a fake? A plant by someone wanting to throw a little dirt on the winery? I can certainly imagine them having a problem. I can imagine them looking around for help, but on a public forum? And if the guy is that young and that inexperienced, would he be someone put in charge of solving such a problem?
