1998 McWilliams Rosehill Shiraz

Australia - Hunter Valley

Colour was abit light on with brown tinges.
Nose bellies the colour, quite intense fruit characters, slightly leathery, smokey oak.
Palate again was quite intense and full flavored.
I was pleasantly surpised with this wine because older releases have been a bit light on and lolly water like.

Recomended. Value = ? (price unknown)

Have you tried the 1998 OP&OH Shiraz of the same vintage? I much prefer it both for the extra depth and complexity. Still find Rosehill a bit light and one dimensional.

Paul;

Not that I can remember but there is a few in the cellar so I will try on soon. I always thought much the same as you one the Rosehill, but have had a few surprises in recent years.
