Cullen “cabernet sauvignon merlot 2020”

Post by Overlandinaus »

Hey there wine lovers, I’m a first time poster.
I’m chasing a a few bottles of the 2020 vintage Cullen Wines “Cab Sav Merlot.
A lot of local stockists only have latest vintage available being a 2023.
wanting to purchase a few bottles as it holds significant memories from our wedding day.
Does anybody have any idea where I may be able to locate some?
Based in Perth but happy to order from interstate if available.

Regards
Scott

Welcome Scott!

Wine searcher is a very useful price comparison tool, and whilst it doesn't include all retailers, it's got good coverage.

In Australia there is a single listing for the 2020 vintage (see below), Vine on Bourke St, Redfern, Sydney, but I see a note that it's pick-up only, and there's no shipping options. There's also some in Belgium!

Hi Scott.

MW Wines in Melbourne has heaps, $159 each.

Cheers Con.

Why not try the winery direct? They may have back vintages available, and providence would be impeccable...

Just for clarification, there's a difference ben=tween what Scott has asked vs what is being quoted.

There's a Cullen Cabernet Merlot (2023 is the current release, and $50 from the winery). I think Scott is looking for the 2020 vintage of this wine.

Then there's the Cullen Diana Madeline (also largely a cab merlot blend) - current vintage is 2022, and is $160 from the winery.

Cheers
Allan
Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.

Hey all, I appreciate the responses to date!
Can confirm I’m after the 2020 vintage and not the Diana Madeline..
Still having extreme difficulty finding it and the Cullen Distributor in Perth that’s listed on their website also says they have none.
Can’t believe how hard it is to find given it’s only a few years old and my wife and I had a couple of bottles when we wee out to dinner at 6head the a few weeks ago 😅.
If anyone has any other suggestions I welcome them 🙃

I've got some of this stashed away in storage (bought on release and stored at Wineark since then). Birth year wine (so you can't have it all!) but have a couple of bottles to spare if you're in a bind.

Based in Perth and wine is stored at Wineark in Belmont.

You could always ask the restaurant if they'd sell you some.
