Plenty of interest there. Musar is a longtime favourite, the red wine I've been regularly drinking for the longest time. Great to see such interest in Etna wines around these pages - an area where Italians would barely have heard of the wines a decade ago. Oddero seem to divide opinion, but apparently there are now two strands to the family (in two different wineries) which might explain some of the differences.
Finally though, great to see a Mauro Molino wine. We've visited twice now and find the new generation professional yet engaging and with a lovely calmness about how they go about things. The wines are perhaps a little modern leaning (they are after all in the little enclave of Annunziata that also houses the arch-priest Altare). However we've really enjoyed their wines across the range and although the 2000s are now finished, we have a mixed half dozen of their SV Barolo wines from 2008 that I'm looking forward to (Gancia, Conca and Gallinotto). The oak at a young age may bother some, but this does drift far enough into the background with age that we don't notice it. In truth it doesn't bother me that much when the wine is younger.

12 x Mile From Nowhere 2015 Margaret River Cabernet Merlot. Still madly in love with MR cabs and blends. Made by one of the Evans and Tate dudes after selling the winery and watching it being trashed by A Big Industrial Wine Company. When will they ever learn. Winemaking is a passion, not a business.

Another "accidental" auction purchase - 86 Chambers Vintage Port. Looks in good nick and winter is coming, but its not really a style I drink a lot of.
Others inclide
2015 Biblia Chora Ovilos - A Greek Assertyko/Semillon blend that is the best Greek wine I know. Think of Mount Mary Triolet.
2013 Bucaco Reservado Branco - the cult Portuguese white that up until recently could only be purchased in the Palace Hotel in Portugal. Meant to age as well as a top Bordeaux Blanc.
2013 Jack Blot Remus Plus - Montlious dry Chenin. Another white that needs some time in the cellar
+ a mixed case of odd, low Sulphar reds to take to some tastings later this month

Two of each of the following:
Hoddles Creek Estate Rose
Hoddles Creek Estate Chardonnay 2015
Hoddles Creek 1ER Chardonnay 2013
Hoddles Creek Estate Chardonnay 2013
Hoddles Creek Estate Chardonnay 2012

Had a terrific bottle of the 2005 estate chardonnay from GPK's cellar a few weeks back. Unbelievable value.
Last time I go on holiday with Gerry
-lots of terrific wines that I now 'have to buy'. And I thought camping was cheap.

Will be very interested to hear how you get on with this. It certainly sounds appetising (as does their red). I expect it to be a little overpriced for the long-established 'cult' factor, but plenty of cult wines remain interesting and un-spoofy.
For my part, 5 more modest Portuguese wines from a short holiday there. A mix of Alentejo, Algarve and more northern (typically my favourite) including a 2010 Alvara Castro Dao Reserva and a 2012 Luis Pato Bairrada(Beiras) Vinha Barrosa, plus a non-DOC 100% Baga wine.

Been buying them at auction for an average price of $15 and I reckon it's quite nice - cellars for years so will drink over time and pass on as gifts etc!

.. and a mini Portuguese red spending spree concluded with some 2000 vintage Bairrada wines and a pair of 2004 vintage Beiras wines from Luis Pato. In addition 3 x 2003 Musar Whites, the sole remaining 2006 Pewsey Vale Contours the shop had left and a more adventurous 2014 Chignin from Quenard.
