How to sell your wine?

Hi there

I have 5-6 dozen Australian Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon wines dating back to 1996, and most of it is 1998 with some 2000-2001. I have 8-10 sets of 3 of the same make, year etc and 4-5 6 packs and some boxes of 12.
Due to changing circumstances I am interested in selling the wine if it is worthwhile.

One example is Orlando St Hugo 1998 2 boxes of 6

Is there an easy way to check it my wine is in demand and a normal selling price range?

What is the best way to sell this?

Thanks for any advice

Kevin

The best, safest and most legal way is thru an auction house. Here in NSW and Victoria Langtons offer this service, and they have a valuations page https://www.langtons.com.au/PriceGuide which may be of use. But in SA Mark Wickman offers a similar auction service and has a strong level of support (unlike Langtons).

Some retailers will value your wine and take it off your hands as well , but you need to have an idea of its worth beforehand. But as this forum is kindly sponsored by Gavin, I will say no more on that.

In South Australia, Oddbins is another wine auction house alternative with a searchable price guide:
https://www.oddbins.com.au/?sArea=priceguide

If you are west of the border there's Sterling Wine auctions, and they also have a searchable price guide:
http://www.sterlingwine.com.au/searchhi ... php?page=1

As Hacker has mentioned, unless you have a valid liquor licence, a dedicated wine auction business would be your best and most legal option to dispose of any wine.

Cheers,
Ian

Another vote for Wickmans. http://www.wickman.net.au
Send Mark Wickman an email with the wines (instructions on the website) and he'll give you a free no obligation appraisal-normally with in 24-48 hours.
I've sold through both Sterling and Wickmans. Both were good, but Mark is a nice guy and that is why he gets my vote.
