Best wishes to n4sir
Best wishes to n4sir
I just learned that Ian (n4sir), one of the stalwarts of this board and blessed with a great palate, amazing knowledge and uncanny writing skills, has been going through a protracted bout of poor health.
I quote his own recent words ....
"I've had a horrible 12 months with health issues which has limited my drinking (and explains my lack of activity lately - hopefully the next couple of trips to hospital next month will finally sort things out)."
I, for one, greatly miss his top notch tasting notes, news feeds and poignant commentary.
I'm sure everyone here would like to wish Ian the very best for 2013 with the speediest of recoveries.

Motion comprehensively seconded David.
Ian's writing is bedrock to this site, and I was saddened to read of the rough run in 2012 for you Ian.
May 2013 see a rapid improvement in circumstances for you.
Cheers.

Re: Best wishes to n4sir
Thank you, David, for bringing this subject to our attention.
I recall when TORB disappeared from these boards due to health reasons, and if Ian were to step back for whatever reason, it would be similarly game-changing.
Get well soon, Ian.
Cheers
Allan

Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.

Yes, indeed. Hope Ian's health issues are resolved and 2013 celebrated with plenty of good wine and a few offlines.

Ian,
Managed to catch up at a couple of AFWAC events in 2011 while I was working in Adelaide, but now back in Melbourne unfortunately.
Always enjoy your TNs, especially the older reds and hope for many more in 2013
All the best
cheers
Malcolm

Bloody hell Dlo, just for a brief second I thought I was starting to read an obituary. Have to have stiff drink to settle me down.
I hope Ian can overcome whatever ails him as he is one of my favourite tasting note writers on these boards. I've never met him but he has an eloquent style which I've followed over the years (hell I thought he was doing his MW, so prodigious were his notes)
I still say Nasir in my head as his name, not Enforcer...
All the best!!

Yes, best wishes for your recovery Ian.
I think we all enjoy your tasting notes. I enjoy them because you seem to be extremely honest in your appraisals. I always keep an eye out for a wine you say is decent, well simply because it will be decent, unlike our esteemed tasting professionals.
Get well soon and hopefully 2013 brings you a better year.
Cheers

If you had to choose between drinking great wine or winning Lotto, which would you choose - Red or White?
Re: Best wishes to n4sir
A quick thank you to David & everyone for their kind words and support. It's been a pretty rough 12 months, so hopefully the first procedure this week is successful and a major step forward to a full recovery.
Thanks again,
Ian

Hi Ian,
As the rest of the forum has already said, and I concur, I hope 2013 brings you the good health you deserve.
Cheers,

Re: Best wishes to n4sir
Yeah, I don't know you, Ian, but I dig your tasting notes. Hope the doctors do their thing so you can return to focusing punishment on your liver (for the greater good). Best wishes.

Re: Best wishes to n4sir
Coming in quite late on this one but I'd also like to offer Ian a speedy recovery and hope the doctors get things sorted. I absolutely agree that your writing style is one of the hgilghts of the board and of course, access to a great range of wines make it all that more interesting. We'd be lost without your input so get better quickly and get back to quaffing some good wines.
All the best.
All the best.
Cheers,
Kris
