2002 Foggo Wines Hubertus Reserve Shiraz, McLaren Vale (cork): Still an impressive dark to inky red/purple colour, and still a major step up on the Old Vine Shiraz, full of sweet blackberry/raspberry, black liquorice, and the finest dusting of white pepper. The palate’s just as full of sweet, black fruit matched with fine, chalky tannins, medium to full weight, the peppery mid-palate leading to an elegant, mineraly & chalky finish. Great stuff.
Cheers,
Ian

I thought Herb was trying to sell up a while back. Did he not get his price or reconcider and stay?
Chardonnay: A drink you have when there is no RED wine, the beer hasn't arrived and the water may be polluted

I think it's still on sale.

Sorry to hear it if that's the case.
Herb was at the CD the last time I was there (about two years ago) - they originally had two vineyards, and had sold the Wilcadene vineyard & homestead (I think that was at McLaren Flat) to d'Arenberg when it was previously up for sale, but fully intended to keep the Foggo Road winery block, cellar door, etc.
Cheers,
Ian
