Restaurants that suffered in Brisbane CBD floods, 2011

Post by morph_associates »

Dear all

Sorry to push a link to my own blog here, but it's relevant if you're interested in knowing which restaurants were affected in the CBD. There are others on the list that were affected, but that was by other circumstances, other than the actual flood waters from the river.

Don't read the whole article unless interested - it was targeted to restaurant owners - search for the list of restaurants half-way down.

May the wine Gods be with these suffering owners and managers during this most difficult time.

Includes a before and after shot of Jellyfish Restaurant, Eagle St Pier. Complete devastation.

Thanks Daniel, for the information

Does anyone know if the fabulous Brent's in Toowong copped any damage? Although not from Brisbane myself, my partner (the delightful Sue) is, and we will grab the opportunity to visit Brent's next time we're in BrisVegas (or as I heard last night, Brislantis).

I'd also echo Daniel's sentiments regarding the Wine Gods

Cheers

Allan
Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.

HI Allan
Brent's is fine. The water did not get that high.

Good news about Brents, thought it may be ok as it's a fair way up the hill. Hopefully those whose houses are in the lower parts of Miskin St fared well too.
