Hoddles Creek 1er chardonnay 09
Hoddles Creek 1er chardonnay 09
Anyone sampled this yet? I've managed to snag a couple of bottles and was advises to wait 6 months for the oak to integrate... Any thoughts?

Wait (at least) a couple of years.

Thanks Gary - I recall popping open an 07 Estate Chardonnay and finding the oak a little prominent. I'll stick these away and try and forget about them

Have a bottle open at the moment - was showing pretty much nothing on night one but was a lot better on night two - will try again tonight but expect it will only be better for it.
If you are opening a bottle I would give it a fair bit or air or even a decant.

Actually had a bottle of this over two nights. My suggestion is don't serve it too cold, almost ambient temp. are best. Drink it over three nights, the second and third nights just give it enough time to breathe.
The thing with this wine is it should age for quite a long time as it has a nice line of acid running through the core, but also picked not on the green side.
I don't think it's a bad thing that it's closed on day 1, almost gives a glimpse of it's potential to age. If it fell apart on day 2 or 3 then I would be concerned.
