So far it's the Hanging Rock Macedon XII, although a polarising style - any other suggestions...?

I really like the Logan Vintage 'M' Cuvee from Orange. Great bubbles for $35.

Not $50, but on our trip to the King Valley we tried the Brown Brothers Limited Release 2002 ($35). The best sparkling wine I've had from Australia.

Logan M is okay but not outstanding.
Try Delamere blanc de blancs for a nice creamy bubbles or Robert Channon Wines blanc de blancs for a lighter, cool climate style.
Jansz and Stefano Lubiana are okay - but overpriced in my opinion.

If you're referring to the Patricia I agree, the 02 was excellent. Not seen it for $35 though!
Their standard NV is pretty decent too

Freycinet Radenti Pinot Chard 99 if you can find it, ready to go now - I tried it almost 18 months ago.

Agree - had this about a month ago and was excellent. More in the richer bollinger style though as you would expect of an oz sparkler with distinctly more fruit. Lots of complexity and will go another 5 years at least. Not cheap but better than nearly all french NV.
cheers

Jansz vintage and late disgorged (LD) both great examples as well as the Brown Bros Patricia mentioned previously.

My faves are late disgorged. Croser, Yarrabank, Janz and Hanging Rock.
I also really liked the 2000 Sir James Tumbarumba that Scanlon brought along to the Adelaide offline I attended. That fits the bill. Arras is a little pricey I think. The Brown Bros Whitlands vintage is great. as well. It was different to the Patricia Rawshack. Not sure if you can still get it.
cheers
Carl
p.s. Roscoe, nice one

I second the Rockford Black, stock up each year and it's a regular Xmas sparkling.
A special mention to the 1998 Leasingham Classic Clare Sparkling Shiraz, lucky to have nearly a dozen left in the cellar so affords a regular appearance.
