Desert Wine Choices for 2 nights

Post by Finney »

OK, I am a tad limited in this department but am open to suggestions outside what I have:

Need 2 to have with cheeses and remember this is for 25th anniversary:

2006 D'Arenberg
2002 & 2006 De Bortoli Noble One
2002 St Stephan's Crown Tokaji Aszu - 3 Puttonyos
2001 Hattyus Tokaji Aszu - 3 Puttonyos
Any other suggestions to about $50

Cheers

Sorry no experience with some of those, but I know that Noble 1 2002 is simply superb, and 2006 is pretty darn good too.

With cheeses?? Prob better with sweet desserts, but they're so nice, anything is good. What type of cheese you got in mind?

Cheers

Tokaji is great but 3 putt may not be that sweet. Looking at 60 to 90 grams residual. I would go for the 2002 Noble One as well. Its a cracking vintage of the marque and starting to drink well.

cheers

Carl

p.s Congrats!

p.p.s. Glad to hear from you again.

Had a full bottle of the 02 noble one last night with 11 of my closest friends and it went down a treat with both the novices and wine lovers alike. It's very good and you can't go wrong really.

I thought the 02 I had a month ago was a bit too young, perhaps this means I like stuff too old but if you have a 98 I'd go that direction. At that age about the peak for me.
