haha, maybe you need to understand that most people here that drink many wines a week can afford the luxury of such a hobby. im guessing they arent on your average $400 a fortnight centrelink hand out...

Before I forget...
2006 Greenock Creek Apricot Block (18.5%) and Seven Acres (18%).
These wines are amazing if you are into this sort of stuff. They do hold their alcohol very well, but similarly, just because a wine holds its age well, it is a good wine? No.
Just a short ramble on each from me.
Apricot Block - As expected but unfortunate, this wine did show some jammy flabby fat rolling over the tight, big, study belt that holds the core of the wine together. Big, long, rich and sumptuous, I did enjoy my glass but it did cloy do I in no way felt the need to drink another. 89/100, glad I bought just one.
Seven Acres - Typically my favourite Greenock Creek Shiraz. This showed much greater control next to the Apricot Block. There is much more stony complexity and texture, which Philip White rambled on so much about, as opposed to glycerol, and it has a powerful, long and balanced tannic finish. I had a second glass. Seemed like a superb 15% alcohol Shiraz, which I rarely describe as superb. 92/100. This could age.
I will open an Alice (17%) shortly. A mate has this as his most preferred this vintage. My usual favourite Greenock Creek is the Cabernet, so that will be opened soon too. I would love to see a vibe on the Cornerstone Grenache, as I only have one and not sure when to open.
