Should be right for champagne for summer now.

Let us know how the Clarrys goes down. Eyed that one myself.

Yes. Very naughty. Nice selection however. Have you tried any 04 red burg? I recall there being talk of wines damaged by
MOTG (matter other than grapes), namely ladybird infestation, causing issues with some producers for this vintage.

cheers jafa.

jafa,

I was also cautious re this vintage. However, from what I have heard, the top producers seemed to produce good to very good (though not stunning) wines, and with their prices being so much more affordable than the surrounding vintages, it has been hard to resist.

I recently tasted the '04 Rousseau Chambertin, and thought it was exceptional.

2004 Domaine Armand Rousseau Chambertin

This is a real testament that a great producer can transcend vintage generalisations, to create a fantastic wine in a difficult year. I saw none of the “green-ness” that is supposed to afflict this vintage. Generously fruity, compellingly gamey, and intriguingly spicy, it was able to express sheer power, yet demonstrate supple silky tenderness. With age, I can only imagine additional depth and nuance to tantalise... Extremely Good.

Cheers,

Monghead.
