Still all clear for Rockfords. Seems my wine purchases are less than is currently being spent at Costco and I can do no wrong! Probably should have gone with 12x Bests and 2 FGs.....

12 * 09 PSI, Sisseck
12 * 09 Flor de Pingus, Sisseck
6 Mags 09 Flor de Pingus, Sisseck
12 * 07 Barberesco Gaja
3 * 08 Shirz, Cab, Shiraz Mataro, Shiraz Malbec and Cab Malbec, Wendouree
Terrible month. 09 is meant to be a stunner for Spain, with the 09 Pingus leading the ratings. Makes most Bordeaux 09 look cheap though, so I picked up 2 cases of Flor, for a 1/10th of the price. The PSI is I suppose the third wine, but bought it as the merchant said it was a stunner for the money.
Got conformation of my Wendouree order...Ordered 3 of each, thinking I'd opnly get 1 or 2. Oh well.
Can't explain buying the Gaja. Spent all my money, Xmas is coming, I want to get some new winter clothes...The dangers of working late and having a credit card in the pocket.

The worst thing is that I am still waiting for Rockford and Noon to send their mailouts. This time of year is an expensive time for someone trying to build a nice cellar!

12 x Wyndham Estate 2006 Black Cluster Hunter Shiraz.
12 x Jacobs Creek 2003 Johann (cleanskin). Not commercially released due to quality not being up to the price but a pretty good wine anyway.
12 x Thorn Clarke 2007 Cuvee. Left overs from export and a blend of shiraz, petit verdot and cabernet. Very interesting wine.

Some Francois Lamarche Burgs from 2008
Never tried them before, but he has plots near DRC, although that guarantees nothing!

Another 08 Gemtree Uncut Shiraz
Another 08 Wynns BL Cab
Another 08 Forest Hill Cab
Another 07 Pertaringa Undercover Shiraz
Fills my quota for each of these wines now and hope to see some progression over the years.
Also grabbed 2 x Brookland Valley Verse 1 Cab Mer 2007 - seems like a friendly wine for a variety of tastes, good for the in laws.

The twice a year dozen from the Boutique Wine Centre but no more. That's three months almost no buying - unprecendented.
Now if I send a few things I really don't want to Langton's I might be able to get the cellar back under 1200 bottles

This bloody indian owned liquor shop i have discovered is going to make me broke!
2008 Mudbrick Reserve Syrah $24. Stunning wine this but only a stinking 50% off. At least they had more than one this time.
2006 Neudorf Nelson Chardonnay $15. Another tight arsed 50% off
I hate them. When I started shopping here I was getting stuff at 10% normal retail or 30% retail at the very least. These guys are hiking their retail prices up to nearly unacceptable levels now!!

Nice buying Monghead, i really like these wines too, although only tried the recent vintages (07 & 08).
For me, just a couple of bottles of 2008 Main Ridge Chardonnay over the weekend. Tried them at a Chardie tasting recently and was my pick, ahead of all the icons etc. Wonderful wine.
Cheers
Michael

One final purchase to add on top of the Clonakilla and Nick O'Leary SVs for the month
12 Seppelt Drumborg Riesling 09 ... on the strength of a 98 point review from JO in the 2011 annual picked up today.
There are certainly a lot of Rieslings in there that appear to be great QPR.
