Only 3 of us were drinking red, so 2 bottles only of 04 St Henri after a long decant. Was awesome, one of the best shiraz's I've had.

Some stuff from the day itself:

Woodlands Cuvée Emilie Pinot Chardonnay, 2001, very bready, biscuity nose, just how I like it. Fine bead, great mousse and mouthfeel and awesomely honeyed with lemons, great length and fine acidity to finish. Yum.

1583 Albariño de Fefiñanes, 2004, one up in price from the standard Fefiñanes Albariño and this one is barrel fermented. Full, rich and mouth coating, lemon, touch of lime butter and honey, finished with a crisp acidity as a perfect foil to the richness. Great with crays and other seafood. Know the importer well etc etc on this one, so take with as many pinches of salt as you feel the need for 8) :) .

Ten Minutes By Tractor Wallis Vineyard Chardonnay, 2006, again quite rich, but also with a steely backbone, which attracted me to buy it in the first place. Peaches, nectarines and grapefruit on a moderately full palate with resonably crisp finish and decent length. Lovely wine as a stand alone by perhaps suffered a bit this time in comparison to and following the Albariño.

Cheers

Dave
