Among other things
A case of Pewsey Vale Riesling (an annual purchase)
6 x Tahbilk Marsanne (likewise)
5 Cullen Chardonnay 2006
1 Cullen DM 06 - Daryl - why are you seeking out 05's, but not 06's? I'm curious.

12 x Mike Press 2006 Cabernet. Not as good as I was expecting but got better with breathing. Shouldimprove with a couple of years
6 x Vasse Felix 2005 MR Cabernet. Really really good. Tried at my father's wake and was the standout in a top bunch.
6 x Stonehaven Rat and Bull Cab/Shiraz. Not tasted. Good TN's so what the heck
3 x Rosemount 1996 Show Reserve Coonawarra Cabernet. From auction on spec.
12 x Leasingham 2006 Bastion Clare Valley Shiraz cleanskin. $30 from auction. Good QPR.
12 x Stonehaven Tawny Port . Sexy bottle from auction and labelled at stupid $35. Good quality port.
6 x Leconfield 2005 Cabernet. Real standout and a great return to form from this house that had lost its way for a decade or so.
Various other odds and sods from auctions however am restricted by SWMBO so have to sell to self fund. Good prices received so generally happy.

While not green as such it is very lean and arguably should not be under the DM label methinks. Will be interesting to see how it develops and no doubt will prove me wrong. No hesitation about the 05 though. Giddy-up!
cheers

Thanks Carl - that's interesting, especially your comment about declassification, as Cullen also offer their declassified Cab Merlot at around $40 (as compared to $105 for the DM). Is this a common viewpoint from those that have tried it?

The 2006 vintage in Margaret River is reported to have been very cool, so much so that apparently some of the fruit struggled to achieve physiological ripeness. Early TNs of the DM 06 report undesirable green characters that aren't seen in warmer vintages.

hugh fan of Teusner wines, I have tried 3 out of the 4 commercially available at the local chain store and they are all brillant - the only one I have not tried is the Joshua - will have to give it a try soon

Agreed that Teusner are the goods. Having said that, I rate the Joshua and Avatar in a dfferent league to the Riebke. They are silkier at least.

It's a decent wine the 06 Cullen DM ..but nowhere near $105. This opinion from a sample bottle tried over three days. I've not met a Cabernet based 06 MR red that I'd buy.

(Bold bit) Precisely. There are some credible efforts for the vintage, but why would you buy them when there are so many good 2004 and 2005 MR Cabs still around and 2007 possibly very good as well?
