Me too! I received a red stripe last year and no wine. Red stripe again this year and waiting hopefully....

** To the people that have received no wine in a year: are you being overly picky, or were you denied bottles of any of their wines?

I missed out on my choices last year (I sent my form in very, very late), but received a call from the winery, asking if I wouldn't like some of the Shiraz blends instead (I did).

I had no crayon mark on my form.

I understand that I, like all before me, have to wait my turn.

Doesn't stop me being "hopeful".

Last year I received the red stripe, later receiving a letter informing me that I was unsuccessful, due to all the wine being sold.

If I miss out again this year.....there is always next :)

Same here, not being "picky" at all. Would have taken the slops from the vats!

I'm beginning to lose patience with this winery. If people can buy their wines just to sell on ebay and cash in on them and someone like me who enjoys drinking them cant get them year after year even after putting in my form straight away well.

I think my faithful wineries like Rockfords, Kaeslers and Kay Bros can get my custom then. :?

Be careful with those comparisons - if you join the Rockford mailing list you don't get access to everything either, they just have a different mechanism for rewarding longer standing customers.

Been on the Rockfords mailing list for the last 5 years as well as the others and get looked after a whole lot better to say the least.

In total, Rockford's production is way bigger than Wendouree, and the larger the production, the more people you can satisfy. The rumour is that Kay's Block Six allocation may drop to one bottle per head this year, if that happens I would given them a miss, but it will be no skin of their nose as others will take the dozen(s) I used to buy every year.

Hi all
I have just had a hit on my credit card for £538(approx $1300) from Wendouree, so I'm expecting a very nice surprise to be waiting for me when I get back to Australia. We have just agreed a sale on our house here in UK, so hope to be living in McLaren Vale by end of November.
We sure will have some fun stocking our cellar!

I received mine last week...minus two bottles of Cabernet Sauvignon. I am perfectly happy.

I had a red stripe on my form.

Maria

Got mine this week. Shiraz, Cab. Malbec, Malbec, and MoA. Got everything I ordered, save the Pressings.

I had a red stripe.

No Pressings, no Cab, but everything else (red stripe). Pity, I was looking forward to trying the Pressing. Still, very happy with my allocation.

Cheers,

Mark

All wines to be released over 2 year period due to gap from no 2007 wines due to drought.

Malbec $45
Shiraz $50
Cab Malbec $50
Muscat of Alexrandia $20

and thats it.

The second group of 2006 wines will be Shiraz Mataro, Shiraz Malbec and Cabernet Savignon due to be released July 2009.

Did you notice that there was a limit on ALL wines this year to 6? Or is this just a red line problem?

probably a silly question - but

I am not a mailing list member, given the obvious conflict of interest, however, am long time fan, and collector of these wines.

Often Wendouree members are happy to let me have a little of the allocation they have been given, but do not want, and in this way I get a mix each vintage.

I'd love to do this again, if there is anyone who is willing??

Of course, I do not want to take away wines you want, but if you were thinking of ordering less than your allowance of the

Shiraz or Cabernet Malbec

and were willing to order a little more for me, I'd love it?

Of course, if not, I fully understand?

That is the case with all these red wines on offer; has been for quite a few years.

David, I could easily be wrong but I thought the limit was usually only on the straight cab and shiraz. I didn't actually take any notice this year of which wines the limits were on. I assumed it was just on the shiraz. :?

You could be right....the cab blend may have been in dozens. I am still waiting for the 1991 magnums to be released. Anyone know of their fate?

cheers,

Hi everyone,

I'm completely new to this forum and this is my 1st post so apologies if I've missed something along the way.

I'm a recent member of the Wendouree mailing list, have also received the 'red mark' on my order form, and have sent in my order. Last year, I wrote Wendouree and was able to buy some of their Shiraz Malbec, Shiraz Mataro and Cab Malbec. This year, I've been allowed to order 6 of either of the Malbec, Shiraz, Cab Malbec or Muscat. I've ordered 6 of the Shiraz but upon reading some of the posts above, I'm a little worried now that I may not get them! I guess that's how it goes with such wonderful wine in such short supply.

I guess I'm wondering if anyone can tell me the go on the 91 Shiraz Magnums that I've read about above. I've not heard anything about these as they were not on the order form from last year and there was no information on them in the 'wines to come' for 09.

I'm not sure of the wording on your mailout, but mine offers ALL of the malbec, shiraz, Cab Malbec and Muscat. Whether you get them all, or a mixture, or none, is in the laps of the wine gods, (or at least Mr Brady!)

The 1990 shiraz magnum came out a good decade or more ago and was made up entirely of the bush vines. The 1991 magnum is malbec, I believe, and Tony has been waiting for a suitable time in which to release it. Presumeably 2009 will be that time. Not sure of price or volumes though.

cheers,

David M.

Thanks David,

Sorry for the unclear post - you are correct - I was offered any of the avaliable wines at a max of 6 per wine.

Thanks, too, for the info about the magnum, though I haven't tried their Malbec before so I'm not sure if I'll like it.
