We'd love to have you, Franco.

We now have 11 confirmations and we're saving a place for grapeobserver (if he can come) which makes 12. Looks like we're fully booked.

As the offline gets closer, there's often people who drop out, so if anyone else would like to join us, I'll keep a list of reserves.

The date change doesn't suit grapeobserver, so unfortunately he's out.

One more place available now. Who wants it?

I would love to attend, with one caveat... I'm a vegetarian.

Sorry to be a pain in the arse, any chance we can check with the restaurant if they can accomodate that? I'm happy to ring them myself. Looks like they have a couple things on their regular menu with no meat, but not sure about the set menu/4 course thing that's been quoted.

I'll contact Scopri and see what they can do.

Scopri will arrange a separate menu for you gggaz.

Thanks mate, appreciate that!

I'll bring a bottle of something delicious - haven't decided between chard or pinot yet. Maybe I should bring both?

Are we doing them blind?

Always fun to drink wine blind, if that's what everyone else would like to do?

I'll maintain a list of who's bringing Pinot or Chard or both, just so we don't end up with too much of one kind. There is no obligation to bring more than 1 bottle of wine per person, but if anyone is bringing a bottle under cork it might be a good idea to bring a backup just in case (which usually gets consumed anyway :)). I think more Pinot than Chard is fine, but probably not the other way around. We're having 4 courses, so we could do 2 courses with Chard and 2 with Pinot, or 1 with Chard and 3 with Pinot?

So I'll start off the list. Once you've decided what you're going to bring (no rush - still 4 weeks until the offline), let me know and I'll update. I'll let Scopri know how many bottles of each closer to the date so they can tailor the menu to our wines.

I'd like to do them blind, I think that's fun.

I'll bring a pinot and a chard.

I agree! I look forward to demonstrating my complete ignorance (of Pinot Noir in particular). :D

Put me down for 1 x Chardonnay and a 'back up' Pinot.

I think the 1 x Chardonnay and 3 x Pinot Noir course suggestion is good, but happy to go with what the group prefers.

Cheers

Michael

Welcome to the club, Michael. My knowledge of Chards is less than mediocre at best. I rarely drink whites because I love reds so much more. That's what's so good about these offlines. We all get to learn from each other and try wines that we might normally not drink. I haven't tried a Chard yet that I can say I enjoyed drinking, but hopefully after the offline this won't be the case any longer.

Looks like we need a couple more Chards and a lot more Pinots.

Looking forward to it. I'll update my previous post as everyone advises what they're bringing, rather than making a new post each time.

We need more Pinot. Plenty of Chard now to go with 1 course.

Happy to change mine to two pinots if we have enough chard!

Let's see what everyone else can bring first. If we end up with too much Chard then we'll do some Pinot substitutions.

Scary how time has flown - this is coming up to 2 weeks away! Unfortunately I'll looking like I may be a 50/50 - found out I'm going in for a shoulder reco on the 17th. Have been told I'll be okay to return to work on the 19th, but not sure an offline is the best form of recovery from surgery!

I hope it all goes well.

If anyone would like to go on a standby list in case Diddy doesn't make it, please let me know.

Just in case I don't make it, (touch wood), Oz knows where my wine's stored! Consider the next offline on me! God knows I'm too afraid to let the wife know about the secret stash! :P

I think I need to go to the offsite and prep for this!

I think you're supposed to say break a leg as good luck but I am not sure it is applicable for medical procedures.

Thanks! Still a slim chance to make it- will see how I pull up.
